How to Send Automated Text Messages

Why You Should Send Automated Text Messages

Using automated text messages to communicate with your customers can be a great way to drive sales, improve customer experience, and make your workflow more efficient.

Automated text messages improve response time and keep customers engaged. It’s no secret that people get busy, and sometimes it can take days for a potential customer to get back in touch with you. Sending an automated text message will ensure that your message gets through the clutter and will ensure that you can send important information to multiple customers. This ultimately leaves a great impression because it shows your investment in creating a positive customer experience.

Creating a schedule for automated texts is also a great way to maximize your efficiency. That way, you don’t have to engage customers in real-time 24/7, but you can certainly make it look that way. For example, you might want to send out appointment reminders or create a mass texting marketing campaign during a seasonal sales time.

In this article, we will review everything you need to get your business up to speed on SMS schedulers as marketing tools, as well as how to send an automated message on iOS, Android, and software solutions.

Signpost is used by thousands of small service businesses to send automated text message campaigns. Let us show you how our text software works.

How to Send an Automated Text Message on iPhone (iOS)

If you’re looking to take your text marketing to the next level using your iPhone, keep in mind that the iOS texting platform doesn’t allow automation and scheduling as a feature. In order to take advantage of this, you’ll have to download and install Shortcuts from the App Store.

Shortcuts is for iPhones is a workflow optimization tool that works together with Siri to take your task management and productivity to the next level.

Here are the steps to follow if you want to automate SMS on iPhone within the app.

  1. Download the Shortcuts app from the App Store and install it on your phone.

  2. Open the app and select Create Personal Automations

  3. Under the New Automation menu that appears, select Time of Day

  4. Fill in the details of the time when you’d like the text message to be sent. You can determine the month and specific time easily through the calendar option.

  5. Click Add Action, then select the contact list you want to send the text to from the Send Message section.

  6. Type the content of the text and then select Next

  7. Review your automation and message one last time before selecting Done

When you set up SMS automation on iMessage, the app will assume it’s a recurring event for each month. Ensure you delete the automation after the scheduled text message is sent.

Alternatively, you can set an alarm/reminder for the day you want to send the text and manually send it then.

How to Send an Automated Text Message on a Desktop

The answer to this is that you can’t actually schedule text messages directly on desktop, but you can schedule when your phone sends the message. You can set a time and date for your phone to send the text message or you can have it sent at a certain time of your day. You could use a desktop program for this purpose. If you’re looking to send automated text messages without a smartphone, a desktop app is also the way to go.
